Schilli Specialized Flats (formerly Wabash Valley Transportation), has been the leading flatbed carrier in Indiana for over 30 years. SSF provides superior transportation services, hauling building materials, metal, machinery, and wood products for defined customers within our primary market areas, the Midwest (Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri, and Kansas) plus the Southeast (Georgia, Tennessee, The Carolinas, and Florida).

Our experience analyzing the historic transportation needs of our customers and coordinating our driver hiring plans with these needs enables us to offer unique transportation solutions. This enhances driver safety and quality of life by allowing drivers to operate in familiar areas that are also convenient for returning home after their tour of duty.

Job Description:


This position will be responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and screening drivers to fill existing/future openings and promote career opportunities within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Interview applicants to obtain information on work history, training, education, and job skills.
Perform searches for qualified candidates according to relevant job criteria, using computer databases, networking Internet recruiting resources, off:site recruiting fairs, cold calls, and employee referrals.
Track the origin of inbound calls and contribute to the team effort by recommending advertising solutions and prospecting ideas.
Contact applicants to inform them of employment possibilities, consideration, and selection.
Inform potential applicants about facilities, operations, benefits, and job opportunities.



High School Diploma or Equivalent. Associate's or Bachelor's preferred.
Previous experience in sales, customer service, or recruiting preferred.
Knowledge of transportation industry terms and operations a plus.


Full:Time, Monday:Friday 8:00am:5:00pm:Some weekend work may be required


Provide the operating companies with a good, qualified pool of applicants in order to meet each of their individualized hiring needs.

Necessary Skills:

Must be computer proficient and experienced with MS Office products.
Knowledge of AS400 is helpful.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment handling a variety of tasks.
Accurate typing and data entry skills
Excellent customer service and phone skills.
Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written.

Performance Measures:

Amount of well qualified drivers hired and the tenure of those drivers.
Amount of applications taken and the ability to determine the best quality leads.
Overall ability to work as a team member, willingness to learn, and improve professionally.
